Baubles and Bangles
Growing up in Sicily, Verdura spent his summers by the sea, watching fishermen haul their catches in from the water and mend their nets on the shore. His preoccupation with rope-work grew with age, becoming a prominent feature of his jewelry designs. In this example, Verdura wraps polished gold with gold rope, creating texture and tension in a versatile bangle, worn on its own or stacked with other Verdura staples.
