Based on an archival design from 1947, the “Herkimer” Pendant Necklace captures Verdura’s fascination with “Herkimer” diamonds, naturally occurring double-terminated crystals found in Herkimer, New York. Verdura likely discovered them at the American Museum of Natural History in New York, where he collected shells, agate and even petrified wood to use in his jewels.
